I have been a REC Philly member for about a year now and I've really appreciate what the space has done for me as an artist. It's been great for meeting other people that are doing all sorts of cool stuff, the value for what you get is a real bargain too. I've made use of the recording studio too even though I'm an illustrator and it's really helped with my promotion as an artist. REC has given me the community and the resources I needed to make an art a business of mine not just a hobby. Best of all I feel less alone.
Incredible space for creators. Members receive benefits, workshops, and access to equipment that would normally be very expensive to rent/buy. They have the only independently operated Live Nation stage in Philly, and the co-working space alone is worth the membership
I am so happy I found REC Philly! I've been looking for a recording studio to use in Philadelphia for some time now, but everything I found was either very expensive or very inconveniently located. Rec Philly is right in Center City and honors the budget of the independent artist. On top of that, the vibe is very chill, the open co-working space is a great place to write, and the workshops have been inspiring! I'm thrilled to be a member since day 1 of this new space! Highly recommend.
On the map shown here, you will see numbers on each private room which indicates the amount of credits it takes to book each private room per hour.
As you will see, Recording Studio B is (3) Credits per hour, whereas WSFS Collab Room is (1) Credit per hour. If you were to book Studio B for (4) hours, that would require (12) total credits.
Unused credits do not roll over month over month, but they do get refreshed every month to the amount based on your membership level.
If you run out of credits and still wish to book studio time, you can purchase a Credit Pack for $40, which comes with 4 credits. Credits that are purchased via Credit Pack do roll over month over month until they are used.
